We identify HSA eligible purchases based on the merchant where they occur and not based on the item(s) purchased. Due to a lack of visibility into receipt level data and the variety of goods sold at drug stores, we aren’t able to treat purchases at these merchants (or other broad-based merchants such as Amazon) as HSA eligible.
